3I first heard about 11 plus tuition at P. Kay Tutorial through a friend whose daughters previously studied at the centre in Woodford Green. This was important as it meant the 11 plus tuition was near me. My son started 11 plus tuition when he was in Year 4 and he continued weekly lessons until the 11-plus and private school exams were over. Hence, he ended his lessons with Mr Philip Kay in the January when he was in Year 6. I preferred face-to-face tuition having tried on-line lessons with a previous tutor. My son found face to face much more engaging. My son felt that Mr Philip Kay’s 11 plus tuition was focused and the atmosphere of the tuition was especially important to my son. Mr Philip Kay humoured the children and thus kept the children relaxed to create their best work! This was a lovely change for my son from the intense studies at home/school. I am really grateful to Mr Philip Kay for guiding, encouraging and supporting my son all through the 11 plus exam preparation. Mr Philip Kay does not overwhelm with homework but he sure does target weaknesses. I am glad to say my son successfully passed his 11-plus exams (KEG’s and Ilford County) as well as the entrance exams at Bancroft’s, Forest and Chigwell. 0I heard about Mr Philip Kay’s tuition from a friend. I chose it as it was recommended and I wanted 11 plus tuition nearer to where I live. My daughter started with Mr Kay for her 11+ exams. She was attending Mr Kay’s tuition for almost 2 years. She enjoyed face-to-face it as it was more helpful to have interaction and explanation in person. The tuition experience with Mr Kay was ideal. 12 of my children were tutored by Mr Kay for 11+ exams for around 2.5 years. My daughter got a place in 4 private schools, 3 with academic bursaries and she missed Latymer by a few points. If it wasn’t for Mr Philip Kay I wouldn’t have even sat her for the Private School exams. They went to state primary school and we didn’t know much about those exams. As he is very experienced teacher he saw her potential and encouraged us to apply for those exams, and helped us with all sort of information we needed to know, which I can’t be more thankful for. I was not disappointed when my son started lessons with Mr Philip Kay. Though my son doesn’t like homework, he also got a place in one of the top private schools, literally only by coming to lessons. Mr Philip Kay is now tutoring my youngest one whose education was affected by Covid lockdown. He has already made a huge difference on her education in 6 months. 2Philip Kay has been a consistent, always helpful and reassuring presence and assisted both my children through the 11+ exams with his 11 plus tuition. We had heard about Philip Kay from our neighbour who recommended him to us. Our son was already in year 6 when he started coming to Mr Kay, having sessions once a week just to do some extra work towards the 11+ exams. We decided to sign our daughter to Mr Kay’s sessions in year 4. Due to online school during Covid and being in a different school to her brother we both felt she needed help much earlier. Philip Kay is kind and considerate but firm with his pupils, our children always enjoyed their lessons; he helped both my son and daughter to pass 11+ entry to Bancrofts School. We highly and happily recommend Philip Kay if you are looking for an experienced 11 plus tutor who is very organised, dedicated to his work and continues face to face classes which in our opinion worked much better for our children. We would like to mention Mr Philip Kay always communicated with us. 4I first heard about 11 plus tuition from Philip Kay from another parent at my children’s school. He was highly recommended by her. We left it rather late as my daughter started tuition with Philip Kay in October whilst in Year 6. This was only 3 months before her entrance exams. Philip Kay kept my husband and me updated regularly on our daughter’s progress. Philip Kay’s knowledge and skills are exceptional. In this short space of time his 11 plus tuition enabled my daughter to get up to the standard required to successfully pass the entrance exams for Brentwood and St Edmund’s. 3In 2021, I enrolled my son into Philip Kay’s tutoring programme and it drastically improved his grades (Grade 6 in English Language & Grade 7 in Maths). Over the course of a year and a half, our experience has been extremely positive and we’re glad that we joined. 4My son started tuition with Mr Philip Kay after fantastic results for my daughter’s exams for 11+. My son found it helpful as it was again face- to-face and the way the kids came at staggered times meant the class was never crowded. Mr Philip Kay also used to give homework and then went over the questions that my son struggled with. He was offered a place in all 4 local private schools at that time.
