3I first heard about 11 plus tuition at P. Kay Tutorial through a friend whose daughters previously studied at the centre in Woodford Green. This was important as it meant the 11 plus tuition was near me. My son started 11 plus tuition when he was in Year 4 and he continued weekly lessons until the 11-plus and private school exams were over. Hence, he ended his lessons with Mr Philip Kay in the January when he was in Year 6. I preferred face-to-face tuition having tried on-line lessons with a previous tutor. My son found face to face much more engaging. My son felt that Mr Philip Kay’s 11 plus tuition was focused and the atmosphere of the tuition was especially important to my son. 2Philip Kay has been a consistent, always helpful and reassuring presence and assisted both my children through the 11+ exams with his 11 plus tuition. We had heard about Philip Kay from our neighbour who recommended him to us. Our son was already in year 6 when he started coming to Mr Kay, having sessions once a week just to do some extra work towards the 11+ exams. We decided to sign our daughter to Mr Kay’s sessions in year 4. Due to online school during Covid and being in a different school to her brother we both felt she needed help much earlier. Philip Kay is kind and considerate but firm with his pupils, our children always enjoyed their lessons; he helped both my son and daughter to pass 11+ entry to Bancrofts School. We highly and happily recommend Philip Kay if you are looking for an experienced 11 plus tutor who is very organised, dedicated to his work and continues face to face classes which in our opinion worked much better for our children.
